Due to continued growth, we are looking for a newly created role for an experienced Chief Accountant based in HCMC to lead our Vietnam group of companies with responsibilities for all financial operations, integrity and compliance of financial information, forecasting and budgeting, reporting, tax matters and to ensure that the finance function continues to support the needs of an evolving business.

Key responsibilities

Accounting systems and processes:

  • Bring the accounting system in-house
  • Identify and implement an effective and appropriate accounting system
  • Establish, document and implement internal controls and processes in line with group policies
  • Continuous development of processes to support business growth

Bookkeeping. Ensure that all financial and other records of the Company:

  • Are properly prepared and constitute an accurate record of all matters required by law;
  • Do not contain any material inaccuracies or discrepancies; and
  • Are consistent with the Company’s accounting policies and VAS

Treasury Management:

  • Cash management
  • Debt management
  • Intercompany transactions and loans
  • Proactively manage exchange risk
  • Responsible for Accounts Payables
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable
  • Responsible for employee payments
  • Oversee petty cash

Transfer Pricing:

  • Work with external advisors to support transfer pricing for intercompany transaction

Budgeting and forecasting:

  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows at workstream, company and consolidated

Statutory, Management and other Stakeholder reporting:

  • Oversee the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and narrative
  • Oversight of other internal financial reports as required for funders and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries


  • All matters related to VAT, corporate income tax, foreign contractor tax, payroll taxes, withholding tax, invoicing and ensuring compliance
  • Proactively providing tax planning guidance as required


  • Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, tax advisors, and other finance-related advisers
  • Oversee, train and develop direct reports
  • Deputise for Finance Director as required
  • Other ad hoc tasks as requested by FD/ CEO/ CFO


Qualification and Education:

  • Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
  • Chief Accounting Certificate, Tax Certificate


  • 10+ years in a Chief Accountant role
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in functions such as auditing, accounting, corporate advisory, entity structuring, finance management, etc.
  • Fluent in English – both written and spoken
  • Solid working knowledge of local Vietnam accounting principles and laws, tax laws and other relevant statutory and legislative requirements
  • Experience in implementing accounting system and software
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making with a hands-on approach
  • Confident with the ability to work in a dynamic environment undergoing rapid growth
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding major aspects of business/ company administration
  • Dynamic work attitude and results-driven
  • Compliance oriented


You are required to work at least 40 hours a week.
