We have a newly created role for an experienced Finance Director responsible for the South East Asia finance function, entities and in-country teams. The position is based in Ho Chi Minh City reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer in Vietnam and functionally to the Group Chief Financial Officer in the UK. You will work closely with the Board of Directors supporting decision making and advising on financial strategy as well as being an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Main responsibilities

  • Establish and develop a new finance function
  • Identifying and implementing financial strategies to successfully meet Company objectives, reduce financial risk and increase profits
  • Establish and implement financial policies, internal controls and documentation
  • Ensure Group financial and accounting systems are robust, compliant and support current activities as well as future growth
  • Develop strong financial and reporting mechanisms for accurate and timely reporting
  • Financial planning including budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial reporting including management information, bank, funder and other stakeholder covenant reporting and statutory reporting at a company and group level
  • Scenario planning, financial modelling and investment appraisal
  • Group tax planning and compliance across SEA
  • Ensure all entities comply with all relevant legislation and statutory requirements
  • Treasury management
  • Transfer Pricing
  • Proactively manage key stakeholder relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors and investor engagement
  • Implement fund-raising strategies and support due diligence requirements
  • Train and develop the finance team
  • Deputize for Transaction Manager
  • Oversee annual insurance


  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • At least 9 years’ relevant experience in functions such as auditing, accounting, corporate advisory, entity structuring or finance management
  • 3+ years in a similar role
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Proven work experience in SEA (e.g. Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia)
  • Solid working knowledge of accounting principles; IFRS, VAS, IAS
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making with a hands-on approach
  • Confident with the ability to work in a dynamic environment undergoing rapid growth
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Understanding major aspects of business/ company administration
  • Dynamic work attitude and results orientated
  • Compliance oriented
