On the afternoon of September 17, 2020, at the office of Shire Oak International Company in Nguyen Van Huong Street, Ho Chi Minh City, the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signing ceremony for the Loc Troi rooftop solar power project has been held successfully. The contracting representatives are Mr. Mark Shorrock, Chief Executive Officer of Shire Oak International (SOI), and Mr. Tran Khanh Du, Head of Supervisory Board of Loc Troi Group.
Loc Troi Group – formerly known as An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company (AGPPS), is a leading manufacturer and service provider in the Vietnamese agricultural market. With sustainability as the spine of their work, they offer quality seed products, plant protection drugs, bio-organic products, and more.
Under the contract, all responsibilities for the design, supply of materials and equipment, construction, and installation of the rooftop solar system are taken care of by Shire Oak International. Loc Troi Group is not required to pay for any installation costs but only for monthly consumption based on the amount of electricity supplied by the 31,5 MWp system. This agreement helps Loc Troi Group contribute to environmental protection and provides the company with economic benefits and brand image enhancements.
The price offered by Shire Oak is downright lower than that of Vietnam Electricity (EVN). The cost savings help businesses have more opportunities to expand and invest. Besides, through the use of clean energy, Loc Troi Group continues to expand the “sustainable agricultural values” that the enterprise has long pursued, highlighting its image as a supplier that is environmentally friendly and puts the well-being of people first.
Commenting on what urged him to install a solar rooftop, Mr. Du said:
“Loc Troi’s mission is to be the farmer serving society. We strive to offer the highest quality products and operates on the principles of environmental protection. The solution that Shire Oak provides will help us do just that. ”
On the side of Shire Oak, Mr. Mark Shorrock appreciates the efforts to contribute to the sustainable development of the country: “We are very pleased to welcome Loc Troi as a new partner of Shire Oak. This cooperation is within Loc Troi Group’s sustainable development strategy. It’s great to be developing a project in the countryside!”
Growing up in the countryside, among the diligent farmers, Mr. Mark is especially interested in projects in the agriculture sector. Up to now, Mr. Mark and his team have completed a total of 34 renewable energy projects in rural areas.
The signing ceremony marks the long-term cooperation between the two sides. The representative of Loc Troi Group, Mr. Tran Khanh Du, sent his best wishes to the new partner. He believes that the project that Shire Oak undertakes will become the shining beacon for others to follow.
