On the morning of December 2nd, 2021, Green Energy ON Energy Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the rooftop solar energy project at DKSF factory (Vinh Loc 2 Industrial Park) with a capacity of 1.3MWp.
The rooftop solar power project at DKSF was developed by Shire Oak. ON Energy was selected as the general contractor. The project is expected to be completed in Q1 2022. It is estimated that the electricity generated will reach roughly 1.6 million kWh per year and 40,000 tons of CO2 will be reduced per year.
In the current situation of energy scarcity, the installation and operation of a rooftop solar power system with a capacity of 1.3MWp will create a stable power source for production and business activities for the DKSF factory.
With its characteristics of topography, climate, and weather, Vietnam has huge potential for solar power with a large amount of solar radiation. It is estimated that the technical potential for solar power development in Vietnam can be up to 340,000 MWp.
The solar rooftop system is with small capacity, and it is installed on different roof with different geography location. Therefore, it is allowed to connect into the low voltage and medium voltage system of the building existing utilities, not required to invest for extra power transmission network.
Rooftop solar power is especially suitable for factories thanks to its large roof space and high electricity demand.
